Childhood obesity is the most profound public health issue confronting Ohio today. It affects all Ohioans - whether directly, by impacting their own health or their children's health, or indirectly, by impacting the state's economy through the escalating cost society incurs to cope with chronic diseases statewide. In both cases, the future of our state is in peril.

Healthy Choices for Healthy Children is a coalition of organizations dedicated to preventing and decreasing childhood obesity in Ohio. We are taking united action now to advocate for public policy in our state that supports research-based solutions to the childhood obesity epidemic in Ohio. The coalition will also work to ensure that public policy is supported with actions that provide parents, educators, institutions and organizations with opportunities to positively affect behavior in the children they influence to create life-long active and healthy Ohioans.
